You need a tall structure to help put the whole fort together, and bunk beds can more than provide that kind of height for a quality blanket fort.  There are a lot of different varieties of beds to choose from for children, and they will be made out of many different materials.

Even if you only have one child, a loft bunk bed can turn out to be a good option.  This is the kind of bedding arrangement that you can usually find in a college dorm, which a desk being placed under the bed for space conservation.  You can rest assured with most of the beds you have to choose from because of all the safety precautions put into place in this day and age.  These beds will not be made from harmful materials, and the top bunk is always made in a way that makes it impossible to fall out of bed at night; however, it would be a good idea to make sure your child is not a sleep walker before letting them sleep on the top bunk.

If you have children in their teens, they are definitely not too old for bunk beds.  Even some adults enjoy the playful nature of bunk beds, so you should not worry about your child rejecting the notion of having two beds stacked on top of each other in their room.  These beds are for all ages, and they are a cool way to sleep for anyone who likes to be a little different.
